FELICIA RUFFMAN DIRECTOR OF YAMAHA MUSIC CONSERVATORY

​Felicia Ruffman has been the owner/director of the Bergen Yamaha Music School in Paramus since 1970. She has seen her students grow and blossom into lifelong music lovers! In fact, the Yamaha Music School has gone full circle as many graduates are now parents accompanying their children to class. Prior to owning her own school, Felicia worked as a Yamaha Educational Consultant, traveling throughout the US as a teacher trainer and evaluator of new and existing schools. She had the privilege of being Chief Instructor in Yamaha UK for five years as the program was introduced to England, Ireland and Scotland. Felicia has her BA in Music Education from Montclair University and one of two Master’s Degrees in Music Education from Ramapo College. In preparation for Public School Administration, Felicia earned a second Master’s Degree from Montclair in School Administration and Supervision.

Besides running the Yamaha Music Center, Felicia was a full-time elementary and Middle School Music Teacher in the Fair Lawn NJ School District. She has also served on the staff as Music Facilitator to the K-12 Music Department. In summer, Felicia has traveled extensively with her Yamaha composition students to perform all over the US and Canada. In October 2011, Felicia was honored to receive an invitation to accompany her student Calvin Lu, as he performed in the prestigious International JOC concert in Yokohama, Japan.
