Congratulations to our Talented Performers!

We are proud to announce  that the Yamaha Music Conservatory was awarded 5 medal awards in total.  This is remarkable given the fact that the performance level was incredibly high and there were at least 60 candidates ranging in age from 5-18 years of age. 


Congratulations to:

Valerie Chu, Bronze Medal, 5-8 year old Category

Colton Stotesbury, Silver Medal, Composition Category

Devin Lu, GOLD Medal, Composition Category

Bianca Velez, Honorable Mention Medal, 14-17 year old Category

Jonathan Hartanto, Special Judges Honor Category, Only one awarded through all age categories!


We are incredibly proud of these talented young performers and hope many more of you will consider competitive music. Especially with the expectation that Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center will reopen next year for live final performances!

We are so proud of our students, who participated in this years 2020 National Concert among 20 others students across the USA,

performing their Original Compositions and Repertoire.

YAMAHA MUSIC CONSERVATORY INTRODUCES,

Jake learned to play the drums at age 10, started teaching at age 14 and produced his first single by 15 years old.

 Jake's accomplishments include:

  • ​The Woody Herman Jazz Award

  • Recognized Band in National Jazz Fest 2020 ​

     (drummer for Northern Highlands Jazz Band)

  • Drum Instructor at Yamaha Music Conservatory​

  • Drummer for the School of Rock, House Band


​Summer 2019: Yamaha Music Camp - Buena Park, California

A great time was had by all at Yamaha Corporation's Music Camp in Buena Park, California. Students enjoyed classes in Ukelele, Percussion, Improvisation, Ensemble, Garage Band, and more!

The week culminated with Yamaha National Concert, held on the lawn of Yamaha Corp of America Headquarters.
